Who we are

It is our mission to enforce breakthroughs in the market for renewable resources by investigating market frictions and developing unconventional solutions to overcome them.

Focus

The current market for projects in renewable energy is in its developing stage world-wide. Due to the immaturities that characterise this stage there is a gap between the optimal risk management and financing solutions and the current situation. This causes cost-inefficiencies and other market frictions. With innovative new ways of cooperating, tendering and facilitating we bridge this gap and find the optimal solution for our costumers today.

Experience

We are well founded in the field of risk management and have experience in projects in the renewable energy market specialising at designing tailor made organisations, tools and projects to satisfy the needs of developers and producers within the renewable energy sector.

Goal

It is Blue Kite’s goal to empower our customers in their contribution to a renewables-based economy. We do this by:

  • Getting the facts right through market research
  • Raising awareness by communicating and presenting our findings
  • Coming up with smart innovative business solutions for like-minded organisations

Joost Walda

After finishing his masters thesis in physics at UC Berkeley, Joost Walda started his professional career in the insurance industry. As a risk manager he was responsible for the calculation of the risk based economic capital of insurers and the communication with regulators and supervisors. In this role he was involved in discussions about the illusory security connected to some financial products. Confronted with the early onsets of the financial and economic crises, Joost decided to switch his career towards the renewable energy business and started his company Blue Kite.
